Christian Ethics is the class topic:
After you have become a Christian, how can you "walk
in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to
him, bearing fruit in every good work" (Col
1:10)? That is the topic of a new Bible class on
the challenges and the joys of Christian Ethics,
every Sunday, at 9:30 AM in the SBC Town Center (Gym). Teacher:
Dr. Wayne Grudem of Phoenix Seminary.
The format includes application and interaction between
teacher and class.

• Prayer Ministry
Ron Dickison is the Christian Essentials class leader.
His responsibilities include bringing the class to
order, giving announcements, and to relieve Dr. Grudem
of any intrusions into the preparations for delivering
the current lesson.
Ron's additional focus is to get as many people
as possible in the class engaged in building friendships
in order to minister to the needs of each other
and other assistance as needed to maintain proper
class protocol.
Dr. Wayne Grudem is the teacher of Christian Essentials
class. He became Research Professor of Theology and Biblical Studies at Phoenix
Seminary in 2001, after teaching at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School for
20 years. He served as president of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood,
as president of the Evangelical Theological Society (1999) and as a member
of the Translation Oversight Committee for the English Standard Version of
the Bible. He has written more than 100 articles for both popular and academic
journals as well as a number of books including: Systematic Theology: An
Introduction of Biblical Doctrine, Politics - According to the Bible: A Comprehensive
Resource for Understanding Modern Political Issues in Light of Scripture.
The Gift of Prophecy in the New Testament
and Today, The First Epistle of Peter (TNTC), Business For the Glory of God,
Evangelical Feminism and Biblical Truth, and The TNIV and the Gender-Neutral
Bible Controversy. He also
served as General Editor for the ESV Study Bible (2008).
The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association
announced the ESV Study Bible is the Christian Book
Award Winner for 2009.
